You all must be aware of the Pomodoro Technique. The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. The technique uses a timer to break down work into intervals, traditionally 25 minutes in length, separated by short breaks. Each interval is known as a Pomodoro.

The actual Idea behind this technique is to make you feel the time of urgency instead of making you feel that there is endless time. We usually procrastinate because we fail to understand the importance of time. Pomodoro technique makes you productive and helps you to free yourself from unnecessary distractions. Another advantage of the Pomodoro Technique is the time interval. Pomodoro technique not only focuses on work or on work time, but it also focuses on your alone, fresh time hence Pomodoro technique contains Interval time. That interval time will give you your time, where you can relax and after relaxing can again start doing your work with a fresh mind.

There are many benefits of Pomodoro Technique. But today we will discuss only five benefits of Pomodoro Technique:

1) Manage your time and avoids distraction

Pomodoro technique empowers you to control your own time and helps you to avoid distraction, suppose you are in the middle of the Pomodoro technique and someone approaches you with some other work, then instead of getting distracted from that person or from some other work, use the “inform →negotiate →schedule →call back” approach to postpone the interruption until you are ready.
Instead of saying No or getting distracted, Kindly inform that person, that you are in the middle of something, and don’t forget to negotiate and schedule a time when you will be available to help, once you have completed your 25 minutes then call back that person and talk.

2) Keeps Accountability

After each Pomodoro, take a minute to write down everything you have accomplished. Keeping a record of your work and productivity will make you aware of your impressive productive hours and also boost your energy to do better in the next Pomodoro.

3) Improves Planning

Pomodoro increases accountability, records accomplishments. Hence it makes easy to plan effectively for the future. Means people can know in which areas they are good and which areas require how many Pomodoro. For example: suppose there is a student, who notices, that he/she requires 2 Pomodoro to complete science assignment and one Pomodoro to solve 1 math problem. This way that student can plan his/her study time effectively.

4) Take care of health

Pomodoro technique also takes care of your health; it not only focuses on work. But also on your regular time interval where you can have some alone time or some fun time, after each Pomodoro, there is 5 minutes break, in that break you are allowed to take a walk, chat with your friends or have your food or lunch or snack. Those 5 minutes you can consider as your own time and those 5 minutes boost you with energy and gives you more motivation to complete your work.

5) Keeps you motivated

When you set a Pomodoro timer and as you approach the end of a Pomodoro, then it becomes an exciting race to finish, the race before the times run out. This excitement makes you work faster and with full motivation. It’s kind of challenge and when a human is challenged, then only he/she can understand the real potential and capability of their mind and body.

Let’s how to use Pomodoro Technique:

1) Write a list of task which you want to complete.
2) Set a timer for 25 minutes.
3) Start working on your list.
4) Take a Break.
